I finished that skein of white.

I finished that skein of white.

I finished a scarf.

I do like spinning white! Makes me extra-conscious to pick out every tiny bit of debris & make it perfect.
I also enjoy working with white. I know how gross and un-white this looks when it’s on the goat. So it feels semi-miraculous to work with, so shiny and pristine.

Voila!

I started on this while listening to THE LAST WALTZ which I bought on vinyl over the weekend. Somehow till now I managed to reach 55 without owning THE LAST WALTZ in any medium which is a crime.

I told myself to buy this yarn because although I have 10 hand-knit scarves (and 4 hand-woven scarves and 4 boughten scarves), I didn’t have one in a yellow color scheme. Well I looked in a little-used drawer today and discovered, yes, I did already have a yellow-themes handknit scarf.

Spinning orange. Nobody wants orange. I like orange, but this particular shade was not what I was going for. So naturally, this particular batch of mohair happened to be the most beautiful and easy to process. The lovely smoky dark stuff you see upper right, OTOH, was such a bitch I refused to go on after carding only four batts.
“You could have overdyed the orange, Tytania.” Jeezus, like I don’t have enough to do. I do intend to try blending some with brown.

Proud that I also motivated myself to sew a fleece lining into one of my knit hats, for warmth and snugger fit. Taking yesterday off was a GREAT idea.
